Corporate History
AXISMATERIA was founded in 2000, by our parent companies Sumitomo Electric Hardmetal Corp. and A.L.M.T. Corp. Both companies are subsidiaries of Sumitomo-Electric industries, Ltd.
Our mission is to supply the highest tungsten carbide rods for carbide tooling companies as well as our parent companies. In recent years, 90% of our sales have come from the outside companies.
Since the beginning, we have produced mainly super small diameter carbide rods for PCB drills. We maintain the world's top market share thanks to the technology and production of outstanding quality blanks. We prioritize the advancement of high-quality carbide blanks.
The stable procurement of raw material is a key issue to our business continuity, therefore Sumitomo Electric Hardmetal Group focuses on recycling tungsten scraps, diversifying material suppliers, and managing overall production from refining to carbonizing in Sumitomo Electric Group.
Our metallurgy laboratory named PMIC (Powder Metallurgy Innovation Center), belonging to Sumitomo Electric Hardmetal Corp. and we closely co-operated with our parent company in Research & Development. Our next goal is to expand on latest technology development to standard carbide rod, die-molds, and so on.
